For one of my relative's 1921 Census transcription, FindMyPast includes
the District Reference

RD 447 RS 2 ED 3, 4

When I look at the original documents the Enumeration District is shown
as 4.

I have come across other 1921 Census records where the District
Reference includes 2 numbers (separated by a comma and space) for the ED.

Can anyone explain why there are sometimes 2 numbers? (I don't remember
ever seeing this in the 1911 Census.

More than one book/file?
Have you got an example of such a reference?
