Almost certainly a followup to a long-dead post, but anyway (-::

"was drowned" rather than "drowned" implies murder?

Not to me.
The only implication to me is that Albert was probably in the navy.

Rather a strong implication! What else is there that connects Plymouth
with Chatham?

Harold Wilson asked in an election speech "Why do I stress the
importance of the Navy?". This was intended to be rhetorical, but a
quick-thinking heckler shouted a reply, "Because you're in Chatham."

Not a lot in 1925. To drown in the dockyard indicates he was working
there and he wasn't a local so unlikely to have been a workman.

Well, if you've seen any pictures of me they're likely to be a few
years old, but in general yes, I am often thought to look younger than
I am.

I see AB Edwards was buried at Gillingham cemetary, plot 483
