What are you talking about? This is a newsgroup, not twitter.

I suspect the reference is to all the spam messages in the group are
which are off topic and (probably) of no interest to any genealogist
visiting here. All they are doing is cluttering up Google Groups. Many
news servers already block them and every regular visitor here, using a
new reader, is probably blocking them all anyway so they do not see them.

So it is a complete waste of time posting any more of that type of
message in this newsgroup.

No idea what you mean but, as others have written, sounds as if you are
referring to Google Groups. You would better to get a USENET newsreader
and read direct on USENET.

Also for family history queries, it is often better to target more
precisely by using one of ROOTSWEB's mailing lists or message boards,
also ROOTSCHAT with lots of forums on specific family history topics.

Well try with one to begin with, and make sure it is ON topic -- ie
that it has to do with genealogy.

And try to control your line length -- you seem to be using the broken
Google Groups editor, so try to remember to press the <Enter> key ever
60-70 characters to keep your lines at a readable length.
