Don't know if this will apply to anyone else, but mentioning it just in
case.

I tried to send someone a Message via the Ancestry messaging service and
my message just didn't seem to be going anywhere. I'd press Send and
the message area would clear and a few moments later my message
re-appeared and there was nothing showing in the list of correspondence
on the left of the screen. Tried several times, same result.

Went back and tried to send a message to a different person. Same
result. Then I clicked on the ... next to the Send button and changed
the selection from "Click Send" to "Press Enter to Send." I then
pressed Enter and sure enough the message was sent!

It seemed to work OK for me just now - at least, something happened.

I find the messaging system extremely irritating:
1. You can't send attachments.
2. It turns "(" and ")" into "(" and ")".
3. The up and down arrows mostly don't work - I have to pull the "thumb"

But worst
of all, 4. it
has started
to work (as
of sometime
last year I
think) in a
very narrow
vertical
column, I
presume so it
looks like a
'phone. NOT
ALL OF US USE
A 'PHONE TO
ACCESS THE
INTERNET, and
having to
scroll up and down a lot to read even the shortest message is extremely
irritating. (I've told them so, but of course, they don't even
acknowledge feedback, despite continually asking for it.)

Tell me about it! - Oh, you just did!!

I contacted them recently to complain^w inform them that they were
missing a chunk of pages from a Census. I knew they were not "lost"
because FindMyPast had them. The reply I got said they are "always
sorry to learn our members had a frustrating experience but are happy to
help." and that my feedback was "forwarded to the appropriate department
for consideration." A boilerplate response which doesn't tell me when,
or even if, the missing pages will be available.

I have a few complaints about FMP (1) but at least when I told them
recently that an image wouldn't load they got back to me quite promptly
to say that they had been able to replicate my problem and had now
repaired it.

(1) Like why can't they understand the meaning of "Exact." I say "Mary
Ann" I mean "Mary Ann" not "Mary".
