Apologies if this is off topic for this group.

I have recently gained a grandson by my first marriage.
My second wife has a grandson by her first marriage.
Technically, what relationship are the grandchildren to
each other?

If a man and his wife have grandchildren by 2 of their children, the
grandchildren of each family are 1st cousins of each other. There is no
blood relationship between your grandchildren and those of your second
wife so you could say they are step-1st cousins, but I don't know if
that is a commonly (or legally) used term.

That seems logical, thank you, Jenny.

Gets more complicated when the two of them marry!

I would say stepcousin.

My wife had one, and I call her my stepcousin-in-law.
